Texas Legislators Considering Bill to increase Texas Board of Pharmacy members form 9 to 11 and include a pharmacy technician

Texas State Senator Van de Putte, R.Ph., authored Senate Bill 500, which relates to the practice of pharmacy. SB 500 would increase the number of Board members from 9 to 11, adding an additional pharmacist and a pharmacy technician. In order for a pharmacy technician to be appointed to the Board, they must be a Texas resident, registered as a pharmacy technician for five years, and in good standing. SB 500 has passed Senate unanimously and will now be considered by the House.
