Louisiana Board of Pharmacy Legislative Proposals for 2020


2020-C ~ Amends the definition of "pharmacy collaborative drug therapy management" in the Pharmacy Practice Act, and further, enacts a new section in that same law which creates limited prescriptive authority for pharmacists.
               01-22-2020 - Regulation Revision Committee reviewed Draft #4, requested one amendment, then voted to recommend the approval of Draft #5 to the Board.
               02-05-2020 - Board approved Draft #5 for filing.


2020-B ~ Amends the state controlled substances law, to add additional drugs to various schedules, consistent with state and federal scheduling actions.
               01-22-2020 - Regulation Revision Committee voted to recommend the approval of Draft #2 to the Board.
               02-05-2020 - Board approved Draft #2 for filing.
               02-17-2020 - Incorporated in HB 89; prefiled for 2020 Regular Session.           


2020-A ~ Amends different sections of the Pharmacy Practice Act to enable the changing of renewal cycles for licenses and permits from annual to biennial; amended to add permit fees for pharmacy benefit managers.
               10-17-2019 - Regulation Revision Committee voted to recommend the approval of Draft #1 to the Board.
               11-13-2019 - Draft #1 approved for filing by the Board.
               02-05-2020 - Board reconsidered the vote by which they approved Draft #1 in November 2019, then considered Draft #2.  The members requested one amendment, then voted to approve Draft #3 for filing.
               02-28-2020 - incorporated in HB 619; prefiled for 2020 Regular Session.
