Va. man adds lawsuit to list vs. pharmacy

An “old country boy” from rural Virginia is the 17th person to sue the New England Compounding Center in Boston’s federal district court, claiming his pain management center alerted him in September he may have received a contaminated shot from the Framingham pharmacy linked to the deadly fungal meningitis outbreak.
“The state of Massachusetts has let us down,” said 60-year-old father of three William “Bo” Parker and self-described “old country boy” from Bedford, Va., who believes his severe headaches and other health issues may be linked to the injection. “I take it very, very serious when something can kill me.”
NECC, which has been shuttered since early October amid state and federal investigations, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Friday, citing hundreds of state and federal lawsuits the pharmacy currently faces across the country
