New APhA-APPM special interest groups invite participants

Drug Topics
Members of American Pharmacists Association Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management (APhA-APPM) are working to form three new Special Interest Groups (SIG) that focus on compounding, diabetes management, and immunizing pharmacists.
A SIG, which is run by a volunteer coordinator and coordinator-elect, allows APhA members to network, discuss issues, learn about advances in the pharmacy industry, and encourage the role of pharmacists in patient care, according to a press release.
Online sign up for the following SIGs must be completed by Dec. 13, and links are provided in the SIG titles.
Compounding SIG: A professional network community within APhA-APPM where pharmacists and student pharmacists share ideas, education, and advocacy for compounding pharmacy.
Diabetes Management SIG: A professional network of pharmacists and student pharmacists interested in the area of diabetes management, connecting with others in the field, and providing opportunities for discussion on up-to-date disease management information.
Immunizing Pharmacists SIG: A professional network providing opportunities for leadership development and involvement of immunizing pharmacists in the Academy’s policy, advocacy, and awards processes.
