Employment Opportunities at TSBP

The Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) is seeking three (3) highly motivated individuals to perform inspections of all classes of pharmacies licensed by TSBP, which may include inspecting out-of-state pharmacies.  The three vacant positions are:  Compliance Officer/Dallas; Compliance Officer/Houston; and Compliance Inspector/West Texas.  The primary duties for all three positions are:  (1) inspecting pharmacies to ensure that pharmacies and pharmacy personnel are operating in compliance with the laws and rules governing the practice of pharmacy; (2) critically judging the degree of compliance based upon established procedures; (3) explaining compliance-related deficiencies and methods of correction to pharmacists and other pharmacy representatives; depending upon severity of non-compliance, may issue written "Warning Notices" or may be required to collect evidence to refer alleged violations to the TSBP Legal Division for further review; and (4) providing education and interpretation of laws and rules governing the practice of pharmacy.  The Dallas and Houston Compliance Officers must possess an active pharmacist license issued by TSBP and must have a minimum of three years of pharmacy practice experience.  The West Texas Compliance Inspector must possess a college degree and must have worked in a pharmacy for a minimum of three years, preferably as a registered pharmacy technician.  Further details (such as information regarding duties, qualifications, residence requirements and salary) are posted on the TSBP websitehttp://www.tsbp.state.tx.us/Job%20Openings/JobOpenings.htm.   Applicants must complete a State of Texas Application form and submit to TSBP by 5 p.m. on closing date.  The closing date for the Compliance Officer positions isNovember 22, 2013.  The closing date for the West Texas Inspector position is November 15, 2013.  For questions regarding these positions, contact Ben Santana, R.Ph., TSBP Chief of Compliance(512-305-8041) or Paul Holder, R.Ph., Pharm.D., TSBP Assistant Director of Enforcement (512-305-8039).

TSBP is seeking a highly motivated individual to perform advanced administrative support work for the Division of Professional Services. Responsible for preparing responses to requests for agency records. Responsible for the processing of routine complex reports, data entry, maintenance of computer and hard copy file maintenance and recordkeeping for the Division.
