Third Question of the Day April 7, 2014 If the federal provider status for pharmacist becomes law will Congress also revise the Stark Law to include pharmacists? What are the potential problem areas regarding pharmacies and especially compounding pharmacies, if potential conflicts of interest are not addressed. Conflict of interest arguments such as these are something that even the Texas Pharmacy Association use to argue against doctor dispensing laws so wouldn't this be equally a problem with pharmacist being given provider status but having for example an owner ship interest in the lab they might refer business to? What about conflicts of interest with compounded drugs that pharmacist themselves advertise, promote, create, and sell? Is that a potential conflict of interest? Why or why not?
