Role(s):
Develop new and revise existing compounding-related general chapters for human and veterinary patients as well as development of compounded preparation monographs.
Organization:
The Compounding Expert Committee comprises primarily compounding pharmacists, microbiologists, and individuals from industry with a pharmacy background.
Expertise Required :
- Expertise in formulating and compounding sterile and non-sterile preparations
- Pharmacist with analytical experience in method development/validation/stability
- Regulatory requirements
- Clinical expertise (inpatient, outpatient, home health, and veterinary).
- Analytical chemistry
- Environmental engineering
- Microbiology/infection control
- Compounding formulations
