Topics: Compounding and Pharmacists
Sterile compounding practices are invited to participate in the 2014 United States Pharmacopeia (USP) <797> Compliance Study. The study, the largest and most comprehensive study of USP compliance, will remain open until June 30, 2014. The 2014 USP <797> Compliance Study uses a sophisticated, web-based <797> Gap Analysis Tool developed by Kate Douglass, MS, RN, APN, C, CRNI, and Eric Kastango, MBA, FASHP and is available at no charge to all study participants. Participating facilities will also receive a highly detailed action plan that provides documentation for beginning or continuing compounding practice improvements. More information and a link to register for and begin the study are available at www.797study.com.
Results of the 2013 study showed that overall compliance with USP Chapter <797> was nearly unchanged from the 2012 rate at 77.2%. A full report on the 2013 survey results is available in the October 2013 issue of Pharmacy Purchasing & Products Magazine.
