Diamondback Drugs hiring certified pharmacy technicians for compounding and customer service

Diamondback Drugs is the leader in custom compounding for veterinary prescribers and patients nationwide. We pride ourselves on world class customer service.  Due to the tremendous growth of our business we are seeking Certified Pharmacy Technicians to join our team for positions in our Customer Service/Inputting and Compounding departments. 
 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities for Customer Service/Inputting Position
  • Makes outbound calls to pet owners to collect shipping and billing information, fields inbound calls from veterinary personnel or pet owners to discuss or answer patient requests or questions and troubleshoot any problems.
  • Operates the pharmacy software in order to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and perform other necessary functions on the system in accordance with the company policies and state and federal regulations. 
  • Receive a request from a patient or patient's agent to refill the prescription medication. 
  • Initiate or accept verbal or electronic refill authorization from a medical practitioner or medical practitioner's agent, and record in the computer the name of the medical practitioner or medical practitioner's agent and the specific refill information.
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Establishes and maintains patient and clinic profiles. Keeping information correct and current.
 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities for Compounding Position
  • Compounding technician shall have knowledge of and follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Compounding technician will be responsible for knowledge of USP <795> guidelines.
  • Non-sterile compounding may include but is not limited to the compounding of capsules, oral liquids, topical medications, nasal preparations, suppositories, troches, tablet triturates or treats.
  • Standards for accuracy, pharmaceutical elegance and potency shall be consistently met.
  • Compounds medication, fills and labels prescriptions and prepackages bulk medications.
  • Monitors inventory levels for re-order of depleting inventory or expiring chemicals, receives additional inventory, maintains SDS (formerly MSDS) and Certificates of Analysis.
  • Performs daily, weekly and monthly cleaning using appropriate disinfectants and techniques.
  • Performs environmental monitoring and validation testing according to policies and procedures.

Desired Skills and Experience

Skills and Experience
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician license through the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy is required, will consider Pharmacy Tech Trainee license. 
  • Call center experience, strong customer service and data entry skills a plus for Customer Service/Inputting position.
  • Compounding experience a plus for Compounding position.
 
 
Full time, hours may vary.  Pay rate based on skills and experience.  Medical, dental, vision, 401K with match, vacation, sick, paid holidays and other company-paid benefits.
