Fifth Question of the Day February 12, 2014 Should state legislatures and state boards of pharmacy start distinguishing the rules and laws of human and animal compounding since the DQSA covers only human compounded drugs and not animal compounded drugs? Would this make it easier for those compounding pharmacies that do both human and animal compounding to operate in compliance with the laws? Is it possible otherwise for a compounding pharmacy that does both animal and human compounding to comply with the law if the human sides wishes to be an outsourcing faclity or is forced to in order to stay in business?
