National Thoroughbred Racing Association Letter Regarding Reforms in safety and integrity of the sport

The NTRA submitted a letter to the subcommittee to inform them of the national reform effort recently undertaken by the horse racing industry to enhance the safety and integrity of our sport.  The reforms, which are comprehensive and far reaching, include:  1) uniform national model medication guidelines; 2) a penalty system designed to target individuals with multiple medication violations; 3) restrictions on the use and administration of furosemide; and 4) a laboratory accreditation and quality assurance program (the “Reforms”).  Click here to view the NTRA letter online.  Click here to view the Reforms and click here to view a list of nearly sixty major industry organizations that have urged adoption of the Reforms. - See more at: http://www.ntra.com/en/legislative/ntra-capitol-hill-reports/2013/11/21/ntra-letter-promotes-recent-national-reform-effort/#sthash.0FDwkyyR.dpuf
