Third Question of the Day October 11, 2013 At my doctor's appointment this morning I was intrigued to learn that it had added its own pharmacy not adjacent or next door to the office but right in the doctor's office--in other words I walked out of the exam room right over to counter for prescriptions? Is this novel or a new trend?

Curious if readers are aware of other doctor's offices offering the same service.  From a consumer standpoint, it was very convenient.  I am assuming most if not all statutes do not deal with who can own a pharmacy (just as they don't deal with who can own a clinic or doctor's office)--they just regulate the pharmacist and the dispensing, compounding etc. of medication.  This also explains why venture capitalized and investors can own pharmacies.
