Question of the Day October 19, 2013 With the FBI's recent press release regarding the prosecution relating to the billing of medicare for a noncompounded drug when a compounded drug had been provided it is clear that the FBI, FDA, and US Attorney's offices have been investigating compounding pharmcies long before the NECC outbreak but for for health care fraud and related crimes. This types of prosecutions tend to involve more government resources, a longer amount of time to see results but also result in huge dollar amounts recovered to the victim as restitution. Should Congress devote more resources to these investigations along with passing the draft federal compounding legislation?
