Question of the Day February 5, 2016 Is the US Congress following the story of the compounding drug scandal in Florida, Mississippi and other states as they develop? Will Congress hold hearings on this and again examine whether more federal oversight is needed over compounded medications? Will Congress examine how illegal and fraudlent compounding has impacted the cost of other prescription medications? The total amount of the fraud at Tricare alone is off the chart. What will ultimately be the total fraud amount uncovered in the US from this compounded medications scandal where an FDA-approved medications should have been prescribed but were not? Will the public demand that the compounding pharmacy industry be reformed? Should they? Why or why not?
