Eleventh Question of the Day August 4, 2014 If a traditional compounder is having an overstock sale is this evidence they are really a manufacturer or should be registered as an outsourcing facility?

Producing drugs in quantities greater than expected orders is NOT "anticipatory compounding", it is MANUFACTURING. NuVision Pharmacy regularly sends out an email blast of "overstock items" (i.e., they manufactured them without having patient-specific prescriptions, nor having past orders to justify producing these compounds, and now are stuck with them expiring). Plain and simple, they are a manufacturer in a pharmacy's clothing. Whether Boards of Pharmacy will do anything about it, is another matter ...
