Second Question of the Day July 21, 2014 Is it true that some compounding pharmacies charge over $12,500 for a month supply of scar gel and there is no proof that is works? Would the suggestion that has been made on blog that if patients had to pay the cost of these compounded preparations out of pocket and then seek reimbursement from their insurance stop a lot of the fraud, abuse and greed? Would consumers be appalled if they knew how much it costs to make these compounds vs. what amount the compounding pharmacies and pharmacies are receiving from insurance carriers?
