Coalition Letter Opposes Anti-Life U.S. Senate S.959, as Floor Vote Approaches Published: July 10, 2013

 — TUCSON, Ariz., July 10, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A broad coalition of medical and conservative groups opposes an anti-life bill that is quickly moving to the floor of the U.S. Senate this month: S.959. Groups signing a coalition letter include the Association of American Physicians & Surgeons (AAPS), Eagle Forum, Students for Life, the Conservative Republicans of Texas, the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians & Gynecologists (AAPLOG), the American College of Pediatricians, and many others.
U.S. Senate Bill S.959 harms pregnant women by denying them access to affordable medication that protects against premature birth. S.959 would also vastly expand the power of the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) to write new regulations, which would likely include new interference by the FDA with adult stem cell treatments.
Several of the coalition letter supporters will "score" the vote on S.959 on their congressional scorecards.
