Observation of the Day April 17, 2015 Using FDA approved API or buik powders in a compounded preparation is not the same as an FDA approved drug or medication; Consumers must carefully read any advertisements, websites, marketing materials etc. to make sure they understand what type of medication they will be taking. Also ask your doctor or pharmacist any questions you may have about compounded medications vs. FDA approved drugs but also do your own research on the topic.
