Patient access issues could arise with harsh restrictions on anticipatory compounding, which is done on a small scale in advance of receiving a prescription to create process efficiencies, pharmacy stakeholders said in response to lawmaker movement toward heavier oversight of drug compounding, including one proposal requiring waivers to perform compounding in anticipation of prescriptions.
