Observation of the Day October 9, 2014 You cannot compare the illnesses and deaths resulting from commerically available drugs to compounded drugs. There is nothing to compare. Commerically available, FDA-approved drugs have a long history of being reported and tracked; compounded drugs do not. The number of illnesses and deaths relating to compounded drugs is unknown. This is an untenable argument that compounding pharmacists and the groups that represent them make. The public needs to be aware of this factor.
