Washington Pharmacy Commission Has established A Pharmacy Business Practices Committee

Pharmacy Business Practice – July 2014

The Pharmacy Commission has established the Pharmacy Business Practices Committee to begin work on examining standards of practice and operation for pharmacy businesses. The committee is seeking input from interested people on potential topics to help define the scope of this rule-making project.
Original topics identified at the 2012 planning session:
  • Workload and staffing levels (sufficient personnel, quotas, workflow metrics, appropriate staffing to provide for counseling).
  • Prescription transfer (and other advertising or soliciting issues that may affect public safety).
  • Appropriate time, space and privacy for clinical pharmacy functions (including immunizations).
