Observation of the Day: I have been receiving more and more questions and searches on the blog for whether or not taking compounded medications are bad for you. The short answer is some or some aren't. Some that normally wouldn't be can be if made improperly. My best advice is to discuss it with your doctor and not to rely on a compounding pharmacy or pharmacist who is trying to make money off of compounded drugs. Also do independent research on the particular compounded medication, your doctor, and your pharmacist and pharmacy. The more educated you are the more informed your decision will be about whether to take compounded medications. In some cases compounded medications can save lives.
