NHBPA’s Hanrahan Ripped for Out of Touch Stance; Lyons Asks Congress To Act on Drug Free Equine Bill

The testimony of the NHBPA representative in Congress November 21st was appalling.
Philip Hanrahan may be a skilled lawyer but his priority was obviously agenda based beyond belief.
“The NHBPA draws a clear distinction between illegal doping and lawful therapeutic medication that has long been used in horse racing by licensed veterinarians,” Hanrahan began.  He wasted no time.  Hanrahan jumped to the chase with his group’s pro Lasixstance, conveniently ignoring true facts of the much debated post race med.  It made those of us who have been following the cheaters beyond angry.  Most of what this man elected to testify to, with references to an out of date “violation data” chart, was hogwash.  I cannot say it any better.
What Hanrahan failed to do was to paint a true picture of what has become a tainted horse racing industry. continue to read here
