HCG (as used in diet protocols), such as in this case, is ALWAYS compounded (they never use brand-name, FDA-approved Novarel or Pregnyl), because those versions only come in 10,000 unit vials, which is at least twice as much as any one dieter could use (and is much more expensive, causing less net profit to the doctor/diet clinic).

This doctor starved his patient. He didn't monitor her properly. But worse, he recommended a drug (HCG) that has been DISPROVEN as having any effect on weight loss. So, he was guarenteed to lose the civil lawsuit, and settled for such a high amount that "the father doesn't have to work anymore and can be a stay-at-home dad".

Any doctor recommending HCG diets, BEWARE, it's only a matter of time before you get a letter from a lawyer (or the medical board), and then you will smell the distinct odor of .... hitting the fan.
