Penny-smart, dollar-foolish. The VA and Tricare are VERY AGGRESSIVE at getting discounts from Big Pharma for brand name drugs, but there are times when compounded meds are not just more effective than manufactured "FDA-approved drugs", but also less dangerous and less costly too.

Hopefully, a compromise to the Senate compounding law could be found that: (1) prote tsunami the public health and safety from rogue compounders that are really manufacturers of drugs in disguise, but (2) encourages access to compounded medications for Tricare, Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance companies covered under ERISA.

iPhone auto-spellcheck / correct technology inserted the words "prote tsunami" replacing the word "promote". Oops!
