US Congress: PASS Pharmaceutical Compounding Quality and Accountability Act

Both Republican and Democratic Senators have co-written and sponsored the “Pharmaceutical Compounding Quality and Accountability Act" to prevent another "New England Compounding Pharmacy" incident from happening again.
That compounding pharmacy's lax steriliztion and storage procedures led to the deaths of many people who thought they were getting treated for their back pain with safe and effective drugs. Instead they died because these compounding pharmacies receive entirely inadequate oversight by State agencies that are inadequately staffed and supported.
This Act allows there to be Federal laws on the books that will protect the public from profit-incentivized ridiculously unsafe procedures in these compounding pharmacies.
Don't fall for their claims that this is an affront on people's freedom to get the drugs they need. All they want is the continued freedom to make huge amounts of money selling drugs that are otherwise legitimately and safely available through normal pharmacies.

Some compounding pharmacies work with anti-aging clinics and doctors to make crazy amounts of money selling growth hormone and other hormones and drugs that are falsely claimed to stop and reverse aging. Other compounding pharmacies are infamous for selling millions of dollars of these drugs to professional athletes and kids who bulk up with little or no regard for their health and risk of heart attack, violent behavior, diabetes and other diseases caused by these drugs.
