Texas: Alliance of Independent Pharmacists of Texas (Alliance) Board and the Academy of Compounding Pharmacist Joined Forces Regarding Compounding

The Alliance of Independent Pharmacists of Texas (Alliance) Board and the Academy of Compounding Pharmacist past leaders voted to combine forces in order to strengthen the voice of independent and compounding pharmacy since our goals and legislative concerns often overlap and coincide.

In an effort to ensure that all areas of compounding are represented as legislative issues are reviewed for the upcoming Texas Legislative Session, the Alliance has developed a Compounding Advisory Committee. In addition, although many of the Alliance board members do some type of compounding, the Board approved a compounding-specific board seat to ensure representation as we move forward.
As of November 1, the Alliance signed an agreement with Hance Scarborough to continue the Compounding lobby contract. Compounding pharmacists have used the firm for nearly a decade to advocate for compounding pharmacy on the state and national level. The Alliance is working to ensure that Compounding Pharmacists have a strong voice at the Capitol in January.
